Jeff Muller & Friends: Naptown to NOLA CD Release

PAPA LEBAS & GUMBO YA YA: NAPTOWN 2 NOLA ALBUM RELEASE

Over the past year, some of the biggest musical acts from New Orleans and the DMV came together to record a new album titled Naptown 2 NOLA. Led by songwriter, producer, guitarist & bassist Jeff Muller (aka Papa Lebas), the project is a New Orleans-inspired earthy gumbo of funk, R&B, jazz, blues, zydeco, Cajun, brass band, and more—and a love letter to two vital communities.

Among its 63 performers, the album features such notable musicians as Ivan Neville, George Porter Jr., Bill Summers, Chubby Carrier, Tommy Malone, Ron Holloway, Tommy Lepson, Deacon John, Leroy Jones, and many more.

To celebrate the album’s release—and introduce the world to an exciting new musical unit—many of the performers will come together as Papa Lebas & Gumbo Ya Ya. This one-time-only show will feature a high-powered band of all star performers at the top of their game bringing the songs from the album, along with other New Orleans gems, to life.

New Orleans piano master Joe Krown (Kenny Wayne Shepherd) and sousaphone wizard Kirk Joseph (Dirty Dozen Brass Band) will make the trip up from New Orleans for the show, joining some of the DMV’s finest and favorite musicians: Dan Haas, Meg Murray, Tommy Lepson, Dean Rosenthal, Rahsaan “Wordslave” Eldridge (Honest Lee Soul), Doug Woolverton (Kenny Wayne Shepherd), Timmie Metz, Michael K (Pretty Big Deal), Noah Pierre, Matt Tebo (Cyphers Band), Chris Watling (The Grandsons), Seth Kibel, Gary Wright, Leah Weiss, Andrew Wiley (The Roustabouts), Pete Daniels (The Roustabouts), the Naptown Brass Band, and more to be announced.
